• The NRH-SYM is an acoustic adapter will allow the Scan Sound MRI headphones to connect with the sound system on Siemens Symphony MRI scanners
• The vinyl adapter slides onto a 90-degree angled plug that is typically found at the foot of the MRI sliding patient bed
• The Scan Sound headphones have a twin modular fitting on their tubing, and this fits inside of the NRH-SYM twin vinyl tubes
• The NRH-SYM adapter fits onto the headphone port and it has two long vinyl tubes that will allow the MRI headphones to reach into the MRI magnet
• The long tubes are trimmed short, depending on how much tubing is actually required; the shorter the tubing, the better the sound quality
• Most Siemens MRI scanners have a single mono audio port, however the location of the port can vary, depending on the MRI system model
• Those MRI systems with a headphone port located on the side of the patient table (near the magnet entry area) may be better off with the NRH-ADP adapter, because that adapter will not need the extra tubing used by the NRH-SYM to reach into the furthest point of the magnet

• The NRH-SYM acoustic headphone adapter is designed for use MRI scanners that have their own existing patient sound system and a headphone jack that looks like a small 90-degree angled plug. The single mono plastic plug style headphone port is common to most of the Siemens MRI scanners, and the main difference is generally the location of the headphone port. The older Siemens units had a headphone tube that was located on the side of the sliding patient bed and most of the newer Siemens MRI units had a similar headphone port that was positioned further away from the magnet, at the foot end of the sliding patient table. The single tube port audio connection provides mono audio for the MRI headphones.

  We are often asked which adapter is needed based on the model of the Siemens MRI unit, but we have found it best to check your unit to first find the location of the headphone port. If your aluminum headphone port is located down at the end of the bed, furthest from the magnet area, then you will need our NRH-SYM adapter because it has a long length of tubing that is nearly 2-meters in length. You will want to trim away the excess amount of tubing, because that will help to improve the sound. If your headphone port is up close to the magnet with the tube sticking out of a port on the side of the patient bed, then you will want to order the NRH-ADP type of adapter so you're not paying for all the extra tubing that will ultimately be trimmed away.
