  • The EAR-1 Headphone is designed to for use with any stereo or mono audio equipment
  • The EAR-1 earpiece uses Scan Sound's patented 1-BUD® technology to mix both audio channels into one earpiece

  • When plugged into a stereo jack it will mix the left and right sound channels together so you'll never miss any of the stereo music
  • This DJ-style headphone is completely unique because it will electronically mix the Left and Right sterep audio channels without the need for any special adapters

FAQ 1: Can the headphone be used as a "monitor" for recording music, voiceover work, etc.?

Answer: Yes, you can plug it into the 3.5mm audio jack and it will allow you to monitor your music in the earpiece.

FAQ 2: Can I easily adjust the audio level in my ear?

Answer: Yes, there is an inline volume control that is built conveniently into the cord, so you can quickly and easily adjust the sound level by rotating the volume control.

FAQ 3: If there is only one earpiece, how is the headband held in place?

Answer: Instead of having a second earpiece, there is a pad that rests against your head above the ear and you can easily adjust the tension to hold the headphone in place by changing the earpiece (and pad) length in and out of the headband.

FAQ 4: What is the cord length and is it adjustable?

Answer: The headphone comes with a 6-foot cord and if you need one that is actually longer in length, we have many different lengths of audio extension cables from 4-inches to 25 inches in length and...  they are very reasonably priced. 

FAQ 5: Are these headphones available in any stores?

Answer: The EAR-1 headphones are exclusively available from Scan Sound, and we keep a large amound in stock at our fulfillment center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Most items usually ship within one or two days.

The headband is adjustable to fit children and adult size heads by shortening and lengthing the headband length. Pull out the headband end and adjust the length. Lengthening the headband will adjust the tension for a relaxed fit that holds the headphone in place. It's easy to shorten the headband to also fit children.

    Single Sided 1-Bud Headphone

    Scan Sound products have been life changing for me and will be for anybody who has one ear. If you love music but have not been able to enjoy it though conventional headphones or conventional earpieces, Scan Sound products bring you both stereo channels in one ear. I have enjoyed music for years through my Scan Sound Ear Buds and now through this Single Sided 1-Bud Headphone. I can't imagine life without these excellent products.

    Cracked Cushion

    I just got my headset on Friday, March 3rd. The sound is nice and controllable using the in-line volume control. The problem that I have is that the cushion on the muff is cracked in several places. This should not be since it was purchased new and was not used only to try it for a trial fit.

    Just what I was looking for. I like how it covers my entire ear. The sound is very good. If the cord was a little longer, I would have given 5 stars.

    Very Good

    I'm another person who bought this to accommodate deafness in the right ear. My only issues are that the cord is somewhat short, I had to supplement it with an extension, and it is initially very tight fitting. I had to spend some time physically stretching it to relax the band. Otherwise, very good sound quality for the price and eventually became comfortable.

    Single sided headphone - leaks in studio if you're recording

    I work in audio but have some hearing loss in one ear, so we thought these would be perfect for me to work in the booth for recording. Unfortunately these are "open back" (meaning the back isn't 100% solid) so sound leaks out the back so these can't be used for recording, and that's not mentioned in the specs above. The sound and comfort are good but sadly I can't use these at all.

    NOTE: We now mention that they are open back headphones, and that when turning the volume up loud, others can hear some of the sound. The open back helps produce higher quality sound. We will have to look into also offering closed back style "Monitor" headphones.

    very good product for the hearing impaired. very good sound. comfortable over the hearing ear, somewhat uncomfortable on other side of the head. could maybe offer cushion to purchase separately.

    NOTE: The tension can be adjusted by extending the length of the headband.
