55mm Leatherette Headphone Ear Cushions, Bag of 2 • Part No. EMT56

It is very easy to determine your headphone diameter (works for oblong and circular earpieces)

  • Remove the existing cushion from your headphone to view the earpiece
  • Cut a thin strip of paper and wrap it around the earpiece, marking the earpiece circumference
  • Set the paper down next to a ruler or tape measure and determine the length that you measured
  • Divide that length (the circumference) by 3.14 and the resulting calculation is the earpiece diameter
  • These 55mm cushions fit headsets with a diameter in these equivalent ranges:
    - Metric Diameter Range: 49mm -to- 52mm
    - Decimal Inch Range:  1.77 to 2.05 inches
    - Fractional Inch Diameter Range: 1 3/4 to 2 1/16 inches
  • These leather like cushions can easily replace your worn out headphone and headset cushions
  • Why replace your favorite headphones when you can just replace those old crumbling and degraded cushions?
  • Our replacement cushions are sold in plastic bags containing 2 leatherette ear cushions in each bag
  • SAVE MONEY AND BUY 2 PAIRs - The price drops down to $7.50 per pair

Many of the headphone and headset manufacturers anticipate that your ear cushions will eventually degrade. They're hoping you will replace your headphone, rather than restore your existing headset. That's why most headphone companies do not offer a list of headphone parts. Our ear cushions will enable you to easily restore your existing headphone or headset back to like new condition, just by installing new leatherette ear cushions.

Three Methods to Determine the Average Diameter of Your Earpiece

Please be sure to follow these instructions when replacing your existing headphone cushions:

  • Carefully remove the degraded leatherette (or foam) cushion from the earpiece so that you can make a measurement of the earpiece
  • Most headphones have a speaker unit that is covered over by a leatherette (or foam) cushion that wraps around the speaker driver
  • The leatherette cushions we offer have a thin flap that usually will slide into a thin groove just behind the front of the earpiece
  • Use a thin strip of paper (or a string) and wrap it around the outer edge of your exposed headphone earpiece to determine the circumference. Then divide the resulting circumference by 3.14 and the result will be your diameter (works for oval and circular shaped earpieces).
  • We must emphasize that you measure the earpiece itself and not the old cushion because we base the sizing of our cushions on how they will fit the physical earpiece
  • Our cushions start out circular, and they will take on the shape of your earpiece if it is an oval shape, so don't worry about that because any stretching in the vertical direction causes a circular earpad to narrow equally in the horizontal direction, and vice versa
  • Compare your diameter measurement to our cushion size ranges to determine which cushion will fit the best
  • From the above example, the 2 inch earpiece is between 1 3/4 to 2 1/16 inches, matching the range for the 55 mm sized EMT56 cushion
  • The 1 3/4 to 2 1/16 range is the same as 1.77 to 2.05 inches
  • The metric equivalent range requires the earpiece average diameter to be between 49 and 52 mm in size
  • These cushions have an outside diameter of 55 mm and the opening is 36 mm

Product Composition

The leatherette headphone cushions are made out of PVC material that is synthetically made to look like a breathable leather. A polyurethane coating helps to maintain a soft outer finish that is quite flexible. These simulated leather headset cushions are slightly higher in quality (and made to last longer) than the original cushions on most older headphones. The simulated leather material is hypoallergenic and completely latex free. No heavy metals are used in the production of the headphone cushions and they are RoHS compliant. Following their manufacture, these headphone cushions are grouped in pairs and they are sold in a zippered styled plastic bag.
